ROTARY CLUB of WELLINGTON CENTRAL District 9940 - New Zealand |
![]() |
The Rotary Club of Wellington Central was Chartered (established) in 1976. It was 'sponsered' by the Rotary Club of Wellington - the first Rotary Club in New Zealand. Two Charter Members are still with the club - Gary Tait and Peter Macaulay. The first President was Don Gilchrist. For a full list of Presidents Click Here.
The club has always had a wide range of occupations and ages in its membership and comprises both men and women. The talent available for club projects is therefore considerable, as has been amply demonstrated in the range of projects completed since the club was formed. See Our Projects
Rotary recognises excellence in service - both of Rotarians and others - by the award of a Paul Harris Fellowship. Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary and the Fellowship is awarded in his name.
Over the years the Club has awarded Paul Harris Fellowships to a total of 7 members and one member's spouse. A Fellowship is awarded for distinguished service to the community and Rotary.
The current Paul Harris Fellows are:
